Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri can be seen celebrating Christmas by cutting cake along with Christians in a YouTube video but this is not allowed in Islam.

It is very unfortunate that some of us have a bad habit that we jump to a conclusion by just seeing a small clip or picture and reading small comment by any semi-literate person, and don’t do our own research to find out the truth even if it involved any of our ulemas.

It is very critical for Muslims to be very careful when concluding something about ulemas, especially those like Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, who have been regarded as one of the most high profile scholars in the World. He has been doing a great amount of work for the Muslim Ummah. He is the writer of several hundred books on various aspects of Islam. Dr. Qadri has been regarded as one of the highest authorities in Islam by Several Islamic scholars, institutes and organizations of Indian Subcontinent and Arab World. Just as an example, Al-Azhar University Egypt regards Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri as highest of the authorities in Islam and has endorsed many of his books, and has declared his Minhaj-ul-Quran University as equivalent in educational status to Al-Azhar University Egypt. Can we think that a person of such a caliber could do anything publicly that would be against Shariah?

For the same matter, we were sent some pictures of ulemas of other school of thoughts who or their followers usually have been criticizing Dr. Qadri a lot on the Christmas celebration issue but these pictures apparently show they themselves have remained part of certain Christmas celebrations.
